The Naomhóg

(West Kerry Currach - Pronounced Knave Oag)

The currachs of this type Produced by Meitheal Mara were developed from several surveys of vessels in Co. Kerry including boats built by Tomás Ó Dálaigh of the Blasket Islands and Micheal and Monty O Leary of the Maharees. A boat built by John Goodwin is on display at Crosses Green. Visitors to Cork can now row and sail the six boats built by the project by joining Naomhóga Chorcaí - Cork Traditional Boat Club.
